‘Undead Indeed’, directed by Viviana D’Ambre, was a short film that I had worked on during my final Major project at university. I was assigned to animate 2 shots for the film.
As always with my previous scenes, I would always shoot live action reference videos to inspire the actions that my character would perform. Afterwards, I would draw thumbnails to help me work out the timing and spacing within a sequence. This was followed by test shots, which featured an armature performing the actions I wanted my character to do. These tests would consequently influence the final product of my shots.

Armature Test

In the film, Frankenstein is working on a little surprise for his monster's birthday. During the night, he uses various pieces of machinery to create this little surprise.
In this shot, my character, Frankenstein, is pushing down the switch that turns on the generator that supplies to power to one of his contraptions.

The second take was used as the final shot in the film, as my director and I were trying to perfect Frankenstein's overall performance.

In this shot, Frankenstein is trying to position the antenna in order to absorb the lightning strike, which will consequently provide power to his generator. As the antenna is absorbing the lightning, Frankenstein is electrocuted in the process.
